BIO

Liz is married to a professional pilot with whom she has a daughter. They also have two miniature dachshunds. Liz stays busy raising her daughter, flying, and as chairwoman of Mommy Pilots of The Ninety-Nines Chapter.

Liz graduated and commissioned from The Ohio State University in 2004. She earned her private pilot in 2004. She entered the U.S. Air Force's Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) in 2005. Unfortunately, she was medically disqualified for a "what if" medical condition which to this day, ten years, later, has not affected her flying. She left the Air Force in 2006. After a seven year hiatus, her husband encouraged her to get back to flying in which she earned her airplane instrument, private multi engine, and commercial multi engine ratings, in 2012. She then had a brief stint flying as a co-pilot in a Citation 560 before having to move. After the birth of her daughter, she earned her tailwheel endorsement flying a Luscombe and single engine commercial add-on. She is currently working on her CFI rating.

A Note From Liz

First of all, thank you for taking an interest in learning more

about Team Amelia's Aviatrices! I am very much looking

forward to meeting other racers, hearing their stories,

learning, and making memories as a part of the Air Race

Classic!

Lisa and I met in 2012 because I had an idea. (Lisa jokes

that I am her friend who loves projects. She's probably

correct!) I wanted to put together an event to inspire and encourage women and girls to pursue their dreams in

aviation and aerospace. We pulled it off with the support

of local aerospace companies, the regional airport and

FBO, the U.S. Air Force, The Air Force Association, friends

from a local university, Civil Air Patrol, and community

volunteers. Even the JetHiking Gypsy joined us in our

cause!

After the event, Lisa and I became friends which was very exciting for me due to the fact that I didn't know many

female pilots in the area. Our first flight together was a trip

to Florida which turned into an extended weekend

vacation, unexpectedly, due to Mother Nature dumping

the Gulf of Mexico on the panhandle. We flew very well as

a crew and made a promise to fly again together. So when

my husband suggested I fly the Air Race Classic my first

thought for co-pilot was Lisa! Plus, she has an extensive background in handling emergencies, flying low and fast,

and exceptional CRM with all of her military and now airline training. I think we both complement each other well, have opposite strengths, communicate well, and know how to

maintain the line between being friends and being

professional while in the cockpit.

Let the adventure begin!!
